 Wired system updates

UPDATE - June 2010

*Very latest*

We have now successfully tested the new enhancements to LA Communications in both test and live environments with no reported issues. The system is therefore now available, with details of all the new functionality available here. Any problems should, as ever, be reported to the IT schools service desk on (0115) 854 6116.

Wired user id and password requests

We now have a folder in which we'll be posting hints and tips on using Wired as well as updating you on our progress in making further improvements to the system. The latest posting concerns the updates and improvements which are slated for release. You can find out more here.

How to obtain a password and log-in

The department’s intranet service for schools - Wired - has moved web platforms and can now be accessed by clicking the 'sign in' button at the the top of this page. Non-school staff who are regular users of Wired should have received their new password and user id by email. If you have not or are a new user then please complete the form at https://apps.nottscc.info/WebApps/WiredUsers/Default.aspx . Please note, this form is for requests from non school-based staff only.

School-based staff requiring access
School-based staff who know their OWA user ID and password can use them to sign in. Otherwise, please use the generic user ID and password combination that has already been set up for your school. This can be found at http://www.nottinghamshire.embc.org.uk/index.php?q=node/1975 .

The ICT schools service desk have now completed work to ensure that all school based adults have their own unique user ID and password.

Placing a document on Wired
Staff requesting documentation to be placed on Wired will need to complete a proforma, an updated version of which is now available to download. As part of our efforts to improve the service for schools, documentation will now only be accepted for uploading on to Wired if accompanied by a fully completed proforma.

Lost in Wired?
A ‘walk through’ guide to the new Wired system can be found at http://www.nottinghamshire.embc.org.uk/newwired/

For additional support, school-based staff should contact the ICT schools service desk on 0115 8546116.
Non school-based staff should email wired@nottscc.gov.uk
